Ivy Laika is a young Haitian American woman. Originally born in Jean Rabel, Haiti, she immigrated to the United States at the age of three.
Through her journey of assimilating into the American culture, she found her love for writing. Ivy Laika began writing poetry and short stories at the age of twelve. She later decided that the healing that writing has offered her needed to be shared with the world. Her writing portrays the power of words, love, confidence, and hope. She found inspiration through her life experiences to create stories of genuine black love. Her goal is to create images of black love to help others find and accept it freely along with highlighting the positive representation of black men and women.
