Love Siren

Love Siren was another time I chose to step out of my comfort zone. It was a paranormal romance that I pulled from the stories I heard growing up.

The main reason I wanted to write it was because there was an interest in Haitian mermaids. Drawing from the Haitian culture, I created Love Siren.

It was difficult to navigate where I wanted the time period I wanted the story to occur. To give a rural feel, I drew on elements of my hometown in Haiti. I also made it to where it was in a period when technology wasn’t prominent.

Though it is my least successful book, I am happy with the results. Louis and Serene were true to who those characters were. It was a story about love and sacrifice.

Louis spent his entire life making sacrifices for others, and Serene made one for him. Even though it wasn’t one of my best-selling books, it was one of my favorites to write.
